The Tagalog word Salúbong refers to the act of meeting, receiving or welcoming someone arriving. In the context of the Holy Week celebration in the Philippines, the Salúbong refers to that popular religious celebration reenacting the meeting between Jesus and Mary, his mother. It is part of the Filipino Christian tradition that goes back to the Spanish colonial period, and is still alive today. It takes the form of a drama and belongs to the constellation of religious dramas and dramatizations which mark the liturgical year as observed in the Philippines.

LIFT Advent December 1, 2017

Advent night of worship on Friday, December 1st with guest speaker Dave VanVickle. Cardinal Sean O'Malley is planning on being with us as well.  We're happy to announce this event will take place at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden, MA!

This is a great opportunity for youth groups or parish groups to organize a trip! Last year's Advent event was attended by over 1,500 people with hundreds receiving the Sacrament of Reconciliation. This event is FREE to attend and open to ALL AGES. No registration is required to attend. We hope you will join us for this special night. What better way to enter into Advent and prepare for Emmanuel - God with us!
