The Annual Santacruzan and Flores de Mayo festivity celebration on Sunday, 26 May 2013

The Annual Santacruzan and Flores de Mayo festivity organized by Gloria Platon and the Holy Infant Jesus (Sto. Nino) Prayer Group of Massachusetts cordially invites all Filipinos and Friends to attend the celebration on Sunday, 26 May 2013, at the Shrine of Our Lady of the La Salette in 947 Park Street, Attleboro, MA 02703.  The schedule of activities is shown below.

A Santacruzan is a religious-historical beauty pagent held in many cities, towns and even small villages throughout the Philippines during the month of May.  It's one of the most colorful May-time festivals in the Philippines which depict the finding of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena, mother of Constantine the Great.

The festivity commemorates the search of the Holy Cross by Queen Helena (Reina Elena) and her son, the newly converted emperor Constantine. After the Holy Cross was found in Jerusalem and brought back to Rome, there was a joyful celebration for thanksgiving.
